The Right Way to Lose Weight

There’s a right way and a wrong way for recovering people to lose weight:

The right way is to

-strengthen self-esteem, heal the story of unworthiness, and enhance emotional sobriety.

- follow a satisfying, nutritious and flexible plan of eating based on your preferences and your body’s wisdom, that also includes eating for joy.

- it’s an inside job – and the weight loss goal becomes secondary to how much better you’re feeling.

The wrong way is to:

-use dieting to “fix” yourself

-believe that losing weight is going to make you a more worthy person

-put off feeling happy, joyous, alive, and present until you’ve lost weight

Happiness creates happiness.

Commitment creates commitment.

Hatred creates hatred.

Unworthiness creates unworthiness.

That’s the long and short of it. If you’re losing weight to create happiness – you’d better start with happiness.
