My Overeating Mind at Lunch: The Great Debate

Every day I eat a hearty salad for lunch. It fills me up, gets my veggies in the for the day, energizes my afternoons, and keeps my weight stable.

And every day, my overeating mind suggests 100 other things that would be so much tastier, more exciting, more glamorous to eat.

It’s very disconcerting to have a salad on the plan and a voice telling you to eat literally anything else but that. Who or what do you believe?

I recovered when I realized it was the VOICE that was always leading me into misery - not the plan.

This is hard at first. It takes so much faith. It takes so much courage.

The overeating voice is not who we are. It’s something we live with. We don’t have to hate it. But when we stop taking directions from it - that’s when some real magic happens.

So today, like every day, I took a deep breath, smiled at the dancing monkey that is my overeating voice, and ate my salad - taking one more step towards away from the bondage of food and towards life free from overeating 💛
