It's OK to suck at not overeating
Because we KNOW what our weight loss goal is, and we KNOW what we need to do to get there, we think we should just be able to do it.
But that’s like saying - I KNOW I love folk music and I KNOW that I would need to play the guitar to make that music - I should just be able to do it.
Perfectly.
Starting yesterday.
We would never assume that right? We know that we would need to hire a teacher and practice chords, scales, and simple melodies for a while, building up day by day, piece by piece.
Not overeating? We have to start practicing. And at first, we’re not going to be great at it (like that guitar - it’s gonna sound terrible the first, second, third time we strum).
But if you were willing to practice that guitar regularly for even a couple of months, you’d get a lot better.
(Same for not overeating, with the right tools).
And you’d be a total rockstar for the willingness to do the work of practicing.
Most people aren’t willing to even 𝘵𝘳𝘺 something they’re not already good at.
But sucking at something and then getting good at it is one of the most extraordinary and useful abilities we can have.
All it takes is willingness.
Sober friends - I 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 you’ve got a lot of that!!
So - let’s get good at not overeating ✨
