The Scale of Worthiness

When we step on the bathroom scale we get a number. This number is a circumstance. It’s neutral. It has no meaning, power, or authority over us - until we think a thought about it.

Is your mind automatically filled with fault-finding chatter, regardless of whether that number is higher or lower than expected?

I’m out of control. This is hopeless. I’m worried it’s gonna go up. It’s not quite low enough. I get to overeat because I have wiggle room.

Left unattended, our minds can attach our stories of unworthiness and discontent to any number. And on the flip side, no number has the power to make those stories disappear.

But this is excellent news - because it means that you can feel 100% worthy and 100% capable in response to any number on the scale. And worthiness and capability create amazing emotional fuel to help you release overeating and get you to your goal weight.

You don’t have to change a thing except your mind to feel better – and fuel yourself productively in whatever direction you choose.
